Синопсис
“Splendor” is an algorithmic computer animation featuring traditional patterns of Kiriko (Japanese cut-glass) and Kumiko (Japanese wooden lattice work). Both are characterized by intricate geometrical patterns by expert craftsmanship.
Биография на режисьора
Joe Takayama is a CGI artist and an associate professor of Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Japan. He started his career as a CGI artist/researcher when he was an undergraduate student at Musashino Art University. After graduation, he went on to the Graduate School of Design at Kyushu University (formerly known as Kyushu Institute of Design). After finishing his Ph.D., he moved to the U.S. as a visiting scholar on the Arts & Technology Program, University of Texas at Dallas. Following his return to Japan, he was a research fellow at Kyushu University and a lecturer at Kyushu Sangyo University. His research interests in the field of CGI include procedural animation and algorithmic art. Some of his animation works have won prizes and have been screened at a range of film festivals and conferences, including SIGGRAPH, Ars Electronica, and Eurographics.
